I was invited by the Århus Film Workshop to participate in a competition making a one (1) minute film. I had a great plan of making an endless loop of soldiers running up a hill. However when doing the shot, with all the soldiers and crew, the generator that was supposed to run the lights broke down and the whole thing had to be called off. Frustrated and broke I decided to make something entirely different,. The idea this time was to make a complicated confusion drama that was told in only one minute. I had made a new American friend, David Duchin, and he could speak really fast. We had to make the speak a few times in order to make it fit into a minute. I had a few rolls of premeditated 16mm film wish made the whole thing a bit exciting since I had now idea what it would look like in the end (depending on how old the film rolls were). I shot the whole thing with some friends in a classic hotel next to the main-station in Copenhagen during a couple of hours in the middle of the day. I'm proud to say I won the competition.
